Intermediate Monarch

Are you ready to take your Monarch skills beyond the basics? If you've already attended our Basic Monarch course, or have been working with Monarch and believe there is still more you would like to learn, this course is for you.

Some already familiar topics will be re-explored and combined with new techniques to achieve surprising results. This class provides an opportunity to refresh what you already know while adding great new skills. Through specially designed lessons not included in the Basic Monarch class, we will teach you how to use the powerful features of Monarch to tackle common but troubling problems.

This class includes several solo exercises that allow you to apply what you have learned and test your skills. Class ends with an open lab session where you will work on your actual reports.

Advanced Monarch

Take your skills to the highest level. Expand your Monarch expertise to include some of the finer points of data extraction, manipulation and presentation known only by advanced users. In this training you will use Monarch to conquer some of the toughest trapping and data manipulation scenarios you may ever encounter and learn how to approach these problems methodically with your new arsenal of Monarch know-how.

This class includes several solo exercises that allow you to apply your new skills along the way. Class ends with an open lab session for work on your actual reports. To get the most out of this class, students must be familiar with Monarch and all the fundamental processes used to extract data from reports and further manipulate it with Monarch’s table and summary features.

Monarch Functions & Expressions

Monarch functions are used to create expressions (also known as formulas) which define record selection filters and calculated fields and perform field-based searches in the Monarch table window, thereby expanding the value and usefulness of the existing data. This class is based on concepts and techniques that will help students develop strong expression building skills. Students will examine and evaluate available options and determine practical solutions for solving their unique functions and expressions challenges. Whether you want to learn more about Monarch functions in general, or if you have specific issues you want to address, this class will help.

This class includes several solo exercises that allow you to apply your new skills along the way. Class ends with an open lab session for work on your actual reports. Trapping, template building, and topics other than Functions and Expression Building will not be covered in this class or in the lab session.

Monarch & External Data

Monarch Pro uses a variety of source data types such as ASCII, ANSI, PDF, XPS, XLS, and delimited text files, to name a few, plus any OLE DB/ODBC compliant data source. But importing data into Monarch Pro is only part of the picture. There are several exciting and powerful features both inside and outside of Monarch that can be controlled and utilized to maximize the capabilities of Monarch Pro, save time and achieve success. You will learn to perform external lookups, work with the Monarch Utility, adjust the option settings and more.

This class includes several solo exercises that allow you to apply your new skills along the way. Class ends with an open lab session for work on your actual reports. Trapping, template building, and topics other than Working with External Data will not be covered in this seminar or in the lab session.

You will receive a personal, one-on-one tour of the most important new features now available in Monarch V10. Monarch Data Pump

Monarch Data Pump is a Windows server-based enterprise reporting and data ETL (Extraction, Transformation & Loading) solution. Monarch Data Pump provides automatic report and data mining plus enterprise information delivery.

This hands-on course is designed for program managers and IT professionals who are charged with automating the extraction (mining) of report data for transformation into output formats (PDF, Excel, MDB, CSV, etc.) or for loading into databases such as SQL Server, Access, or Oracle.
