Software Developer – CODE: SD-BDS

The Software Developer is dedicated to learning Datawatch BDS, the company’s Integrated Document Archive and Retrieval software and will be responsible for the development and maintenance of several discrete software modules and functionality.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Define/Design the Product architecture
• Produce Functional and Technical Specification documentation.
• Take complete ownership of developing significant features including architecture, high-level design and implementation
• Program/Design in Java, C, C++, C#
• Work closely with Product Management to translate product vision and requirements into rock solid technical design.
• Work closely with QA to review test plans and test cases
• Work with Product Support in resolving customer issues
• Work closely with Product Management in analyzing product Requests for Enhancement

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of server software development experience
• Strong Analytical and Problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Java, JMS, XML, Visual C++, C#, CORBA and Web Services
• Strong object-oriented programming/design/analysis skills
• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, design patterns, architectural patterns
• Knowledge of and experience in the following development environments and tools; Visual Studio, Eclipse, RMI, COBRA,
• Experience in document management, Mainframe print files, Intelligent Print Data Steams is a plus
• MS SharePoint development and integration is a plus
• Ability to multi-task, self-initiated, sense of ownership and accountability

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work requires extensive work using a computer. Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported.
